Some people asked me if I had my hair digitally permed. And the truth is NO. I have naturally curly hair and I only style it to give it a little swag. haha. :P
My hair styling routine is quite simple. I apply mousse from the middle part of my hair to the tips then I straighten my bangs and front part of my hair using a flat iron.
Hence, this look:
Looks a little bit okay right? Parang hindi lang nanuklay ang peg.
My hair is quite long already and it's becoming more difficult to manage. The tips of my hair are also getting dry. I want to get a haircut but I want to maintain the length of my hair. My only problem right now is getting a haircut while maintaining the hair length may not be the best thing to say to the hairstylist. YES because they actually never happen >_< especially with curly hair. The hairstylist has to cut it in layers to define the curls and to reduce the frizz. As the curls become more defined, the hair appears shorter. Get the drift? And that is IF the hairstylist ACTUALLY do as what they're told. Most of the time, they simply cut it shorter even if you told them you want to maintain the length on the back part of the hair. >_<
And why is this such a big deal? Well, Nani's sister is getting married (again but this time it's a Church Wedding) and I'm part of the entourage. Peg ko ilugay ang aking hair. Hehe.
ANYWAY, I've been trying to find ways to style my hair. I want defined big curls. Ayoko naman magmukhang Goldilocks no.
Since I have a very long hair and my curls look more wavy and frizzy, I decided to define the curls using bendy rollers. I've tried using bendy rollers before but my hair looked terrible afterwards. My curls were all over the place. I wanted to give them away until I saw Judy of Itsjudytime used bendy rollers in one of her hair tutorials. That got me inspired to try them again. :P Bakit? Pangstraight hair lang ba ang bendy rollers? Hahaha. :P
Here's one way to use them on curly hair:
First, divide the hair into two sections: top and bottom.
The top part was probably just 1/4 of the hair since I planned to straighten my bangs, front, side and little bit of the back part of the hair. Secure the top part with a hair clip.
Second, apply mousse on the bottom part and use bendy rollers to lock the curls.
Third, release the top section and begin straightening the hair.
Yey! Akala mo nagparebond lang. LOL
Fourth, secure the top part with a hair clip again. If the bottom part of the hair is not yet dry you may use a diffuser to expedite the process. Otherwise, just leave it for 30-45 minutes to dry.
Fifth, remove the bendy rollers and reapply mousse.
And lastly, remove the hair clip and blend the top and bottom section of the hair. Don't use a brush since using a brush on curly hair will only make the curls more frizzy. Use a comb preferably a wide tooth one.
TADAH!!!! Akala mo pinasalon pero Bendy Rollers lang pala. :P
The power of bendy rollers! ^___^

Hi! Your hair looks nice. I wanna try it too. I don't have bendy rollers yet but the thought of having beach locks interests me. Really.
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting! :)
You should try this one. Bendy rollers are affordable. I bought mine at Watsons. :P If you want beach locks, try parting your hair into smaller sections. :P

I think this will work on you even if you have kinky curls. Just apply a good amount of mousse. Also, use the bendy rollers on damped hair so that it can easily be styled. :)
