PRODUCT REVIEW: Bifesta Cleansing Lotion in MOIST

Removing makeup can be a tedious task- one would have to wash his/her face numerous times and/or apply several cleansing products before the makeup products are completely removed. Getting rid of the makeup can also be a nightmare to one who loves applying waterproof makeup products. If you think it is impossible to remove your makeup thoroughly and easily, don't fret because Bifesta Cleansing Lotion has reached the Philippine shore. Bifesta is a Japanese brand that is quite popular for makeup remover products. One of its bestsellers is the Bifesta Cleansing Lotion .

Bifesta Cleansing Lotion is a water-based cleanser/toner that cleanses and nourishes the skin. It claims to be a one step makeup remover as it removes makeup thoroughly without leaving your skin dry or irritated.

I bought the BCL variant in MOIST. This variant:

" contains ceramide-like sibstance (moisturizer) that hydrates skin, leaving it soft all day long and contained hyaluronic acid (moisturizer) that makes skin smoother and brighter."

MOIST is suitable for persons who have normal to dry skin. I have combination oily skin but I don't mind getting this because I want to have hydrated skin.

DESCRIPTION:

  • melts and removes oil in makeu
  • improves skin tone and texture and masks imperfections
  • Moisturizes dry and sensitive skin
  • Hypoallergenic
"Its cleansing agent effectively absorbs impurities allowing the easy removal of dead skin cells. Its moisturizing & toning properties make skin soft and smooth. For cleansing and toning, on bottle is all you need. Wipe off with cotton pads. No need to rinse."

DIRECTIONS:

"Wet cotton pad with product (about 2-3 pumps) and wipe the face gently. For heavy makeup users, change cotton and repeat the process until not traces of dirt can be seen. When removing eye makeup, hold the cotton pad against the eye for a while then carefully wipe it off in downward motion to avoid contact with eyes. No need to rinse. Continue to the next regimen. "

WHEN USED EVERY DAY, ONE BOTTLE LASTS FOR 1-1.5 MONTHS.

WHAT I LIKE:

  • I like that it has a pump with a removable lock. It's quite convenient because you can easily control the amount of product to use.
  • It doesn't have an overpowering smell. It says on the bottle that it is fragrance-free so it is friendly in the eyes and nose.
  • It is water-based and easily absorbed by the skin. I can feel my skin being moisturized without the sticky or greasy feeling.
  • It is hypoallergenic and noncomodogenic.
  • It removed my foundation easily and I only needed 2 cotton balls.
  • It also removed my mascara easily compare to my previous makeup removal routine. However, I wasn't using a waterproof mascara so I'm still curious on how this product will perform if I used my Maybelline Magnum Waterproof mascara. (naubos ko na kasi kaya gamit ko ngayon ay yung Maybelline Rocket Mascara na mas madaling tanggalin)
  • No need to rinse. Bifesta Cleansing Lotion tas tulog agad-agad. haha.
  • No stingy feeling.
  • My face felt smooth and hydrated after use.
  • This is available at Watsons and SM Department Stores. (Don't hesitate to comment if you know other stores that carry this brand.)
  • It is a versatile makeup remover. You can use it on your face lips, eyes and even body makeup. No need to buy a separate lip and makeup remover.

WHAT I DON'T LIKE:

  • This is priced at PHP 419. But due to a sale in SM Marikina, I was able to buy it at PHP 377. Personally, I find it quite expensive even for a 300 ml bottle because it claims to last for 1-1.5 months only. In short, kailangan ko to tipirin kung gusto ko to magamit ng mas matagal dahil di ako willing bumili nito buwan-buwan. Taghirap mode. hehe.
  • The translated description is stuck with the plastic seal. I decided to simply remove the plastic on the pump because I don't want to peel off the entire plastic with the English description. The original bottle contains Japanese description only. Anyhow, it is just a minor nuisance. :P

WAS IT WORTH THE PURCHASE?

I don't usually buy a makeup remover because I am content with my 3-step cleansing routine which is cheaper.  However, I find this product a good one to try and experience because, now, I don't have an excuse to sleep with my makeup on. It may be a bit pricey for me and my lifestyle but it is still affordable especially for those who are truly looking for a great makeup remover. I highly recommend you to try it because it can remove makeup with ease and, at the same time, help hydrate and moisturize the skin.

FOTD: A Magical Wedding Event

Last week, I attended Nani's sister's church wedding. The newly wed couple already had a civil marriage last year, 11-11-11, but having a church wedding made their love story more magical. We got to know more about the couple and their families. And it was truly a great experience for me since it was my first time to be part of the entourage. I was so excited to share the wonderful evening with Nani's sister, Ate Rachelle, and her husband, Kuya Nikko. I couldn't explain how inspired I became when they finally declared their vows. Super Kilig talaga. :) Ate Rachelle and Kuya Nikko are both lawyers and they met in San Beda College of Law during their freshmen years. They are truly inspirations to law student couples. :) SEE!!! Relationship is not a hindrance in law school. hehe. <3
Anyway, here's a sneak peek of their wedding trailer and wedding slideshow

Now a wedding event is a very special ceremony. Since I was one of the secondary sponsors, I wanted to look polished and appropriate. I was having second thoughts whether or not I would ask for a professional help with my makeup.  I didn't want to be disappointed with my makeup. First of all, I have uneven folds on my eyelid. Typical application of eyeliner would look horrible on me. Secondly, since I have uneven folds, my eyes don't look symmetrical. Certain eyeshadow colors emphasize that. Lastly, I don't like full coverage makeup. I had several bad experiences with salon MUAs so I decided to be my own make up artist. Char lang diba???

Loving my Maybelline the Falsies Mascara! :)

Me and my beautiful Mom. :) I love her very much. She's the strongest woman I've ever known.
My mom never had the confidence to tell herself that she's beautiful but I believe she is. She's the most beautiful person I have ever known. She is a CPA but when she got married she gave up her career to take care of her children. And now, she helps my dad with our family business to support our studies. I love my mom. I can't imagine my life without her. I feel like a big part of me will die if that's gonna happen. hehe. :) My mom suffered from Bell's Palsy when I was little. And five years ago, she had undergone surgery for a heart bypass because of Aortic Aneurysm. Even now I can't believe she went through all that. I pray that on my wedding day, she and dad will walk me down the aisle. :) For that, I'll be the happiest bride. :)

Product Review: Nanny Rose's Queen Bee Honey Wax

It is quite a challenge for us, girls, to keep our underarms hair free. There are several options to remove the hair on those unwanted areas but they can be tedious, painful and/or expensive. I personally used to pluck the hair on my underarms but it was time-consuming and such method could lead to chicken skin. Another common and easy way to do it is to shave the hair, but shaving was never an option for me because I don't like how the hair regrows afterwards.

Isn't it stressful when you have to wear sleeveless or dress that requires you to flaunt your underarms the next day yet you haven't plucked and shaved at all? I guess most of us want to be underarm hair free forever. Laser treatments came along and became popular to remove the hair permanently, however they are quite expensive. (Kumusta naman kung makakailang sessions ka non diba?) So I continued searching for a solution to my hair problem. Haha!

     Then, I discovered DIY Waxing.

I've been a wax user for almost three years and I can say that waxing is a better method than plucking and shaving. It is better than plucking because it is faster and less painful. And compare to shaving, it is better since it removes the roots of the hair, hence, hair regrowth is slower. Ever since I tried waxing, I never went back to plucking again.

The first waxing product I have tried was Strip It, a popular sugar wax which can be used hot or cold. Based on my experience, it pulls the hair effectively removing 99-100% of the hair. However, the brand is not accessible in our place. I had to buy it online which can be a hassle especially if there is no Paypal option. When I used up my Strip It wax, I knew I had to look for another brand. I went to Watsons and I found Nanny Rose's Queen Bee Honey Wax

I bought the 50g as I didn't want to be impulsive again to buy the biggest one but end up disliking the product. I love how cute the box is. :)

I also love the fact that they provided information on the packaging. So don't throw it away! :)

WHAT I LIKE:
  • It's all natural! It's all honey, baby!
  • The container is microwavable.
  • Packaging contains relevant information like the expiration date.
  • You can use the wax hot or cold. (But I recommend using it while warm for smooth application)
  • Box contains three washable cloths and a wooden applicator. (Avoid double dipping. I threw away the free spatula after waxing and I just used the other spatulas I bought from the national bookstore. Mura lang yun! hehe.)
  • It removes 70%-80% of the hair on your first pull. (The result will depend on the thickness of the hair. I have relatively thick hair so it can be difficult to remove the hair flawlessly in one go.)
  • Affordable (Php 99 for 50g)
  • Accessible
  • Easy to store
  • Hair regrows on my 2nd week which is good considering my hair really grows fast.
WHAT I DON'T LIKE:
  • The wax seeps through the cloth so it's difficult to pull out all the hair. Most of the time I had to wax 2-3 times on one area. (Tip: Apply powder on top of the cloth)

WILL I REPURCHASE?

I like this product but I'd probably look for another brand. Although this product pulls a decent amount of hair, I still want to look for other products that can give better performance. But if you're look for a good hair remover, you might want to give this a try. :)

Product Review: Pond's Cold Cream

My mom had used this product (original formula) years ago and, since I wasn't as conscious about my skin as I am now, I've never really bothered using this cold cream. When I started wearing makeup, I didn't really pay much attention in make-up removers. I've always thought facial cleansers and toners are sufficient in getting rid of make-up. But as I learned more about my skin and make-up products, I realized that there's a need to deeply clean the skin to prevent breakouts and pimples.

Then, I came across Pond's Lemon Cold Cream Deep Cleanser. When I bought this, the SA told me that the only difference with this and the original formula is the scent. This is their best-seller and I can attest to that because most of the time, this product is sold out. I only got the small variant and it was the last stock. I got lucky. :P

This product is a moisturizer/makeup remover. It deeply cleans the skin and makes your face softer at the same time. There are times that I get home tired and too sleepy to wash my face so whenever that happens, this product comes to my rescue. It really removes my make up and even the toughest mascara that I have. When I wipe it off, it still leaves my face moisturized and smoother. But it is not that sticky like the other moisturizers. It doesn't really bother me at all because it feels light on my skin. Moreover, I noticed that when I wake up in the morning, my skin looks supple and smoother. It's like waking up with a healthier skin.

To use this product, I usually apply this after I cleanse and tone my skin. This is that last step as it works as a moisturizer more than a makeup remover. At the same time, if you don't have an effective facial cleanser, this will take off the residue of the makeup that you have applied on your face. You might be surprised of how much makeup remains on your skin even after you've cleansed your face.

So after toning my skin, I apply a small amount of this product on my face and gently massage it unto my skin. Massage it for 3-5 minutes then wipe it off with a dry cotton ball or pad.

Use this every night and you'll notice the big difference it makes on your skin. Notice the glow when you wake up. This is very affordable and the smaller variant (60 ml) could probably last you a month or two.  I bought it at SM Department Store in the Watsons section and it was priced at Php 134.75. I know they have a bigger version because I've read a review about it and my mom used to buy the bigger one. You might want to check that out.

Try it cause it is really worth it.

Have a great day! :)

Product Review: Daiso's Charcoal Natural Pack Masque

Yup. I finally joined the bandwagon and bought this famous charcoal mask. :P

I like the fact that it is sealed unlike other skin care tubes.

This mask is very affordable at a price of Php 88. I bought this at Daiso in Alimall Cubao last month.

A friend told me that this will not effectively remove blackheads but it works well in removing white heads. I put it to the test to see if it would work the same for me.

To be honest, I didn't really buy this for myself. Hehehe. I bought this because I wanna try this to Nani since he has a lot of whiteheads on his nose. ^___^ I must admit he has a flawless skin. (His skin is better than mine despite the fact that I've spent a lot for skin care. On the other hand, he only uses water on his face.... -_- Kaasar diba?) But no one's perfect... BUAHAHAHA! He has white heads on his nose and they're dying to get out of the pores.

But of course, I tried it.

Hello Bagong gising eyes!

I miss Kapal Kilay. :P I took this photo weeks ago so my eyebrows
were still thick.

I didn't apply the product on my entire face because it's difficult to remove especially if you, accidentally, put some on areas with hair. It's really going to pull your skin. If you have visible whiteheads, this will work for you. I haven't tried it with blackheads because I don't have any so I don't know if it can effectively remove them as well.

I tried it on Nani's nose and I totally fell in love with this product. It removed persistent whiteheads although it didn't clear everything. But I think with frequent use, it can help reduce white heads especially on the nose.

I usually buy nose pore strips which can be costly. Fortunately, I found an affordable alternative. :P

A tip I can give you is to exfoliate the part which has whiteheads/blackheads. Then rinse using lukewarm water. Apply this product and make sure that it dries completely before pulling it. If you apply it on small areas, make sure you pull it fast. It's like waxing the area.

If you have tried this product, feel free to post some comments. ^__^

Have a great day!

DIY Oatmeal Facial Mask

Oatmeal is a very good alternative for a facial cleanser or mask. It is natural and very affordable. I watched Bubzbeauty's video of Oatmeal Facial Scrub but since it was too messy I decided to do a facial mask instead. My DIY was quite similar to hers but I added some steps which I learned from other gurus. I discovered that to maximize the results of any facial mask, one needs to open up the pores first. I really want to buy Watsons' Facial Steamer but since I don't have it now, there is an alternative procedure for the same result. Other people put their face near a boiling/hot water which has a steamer effect. But I want an easier way to do that. I don't want my brothers to see me steaming my face in the kitchen anyway.

Well, Let's start.

First, you will need a small bowl where you can put the lukewarm water.

Second, damp the towel to the lukewarm water. Test it first using the back of your hand before putting the towel on you face. This will help open up the pores and make it easier to remove the dirt. Gently pat the towel on your face for about 5 minutes.

Tasted good when I accidentally put some oatmeal on my lips. haha

Third, get a handful of oatmeal. I suggest you get the original flavor. I was planning to eat this but decided to use this for the tutorial instead. Now, using the lukewarm water on the bowl, add a little water on the oatmeal and gently squeeze your hand. Just add enough water to make an oatmeal "paste".

Food for the Face
Fourth, apply the oatmeal "paste" generously on your face and leave it for 10-15 minutes.

Let it dry!
Finally, rinse you face and gently remove the mask. Follow it with your favorite moisturizer to lock in the moisture on your face.

breakouts on my forehead :( I really want to get rid of them.

Hello Eyebagssss! ^___^
Yey for clean face!

Have a great day!
