The Face Shop: Pop of Colors

Last Christmas, Nani's sister, Ate Sheng, gave me a set of nail polish from The Face Shop. I haven't used them yet because I was saving them for summer. :P I love the colors that she picked especially the blue one because it was what Bubzbeauty used in her bumblebee nail tutorial.

Another thing that I love about her gift is the bag. :) Hehehe. Super Girly... ^___^

What colors do you like from this set? I love the blue one. :)

Have a great summer, everyone!

Nail of the Day: Glittery Sunday!

Hello Ladies! I have another NOTD for you. Last week, I bought some glitters from National Bookstore with the intention of using them on my nails. I saw videos in youtube about glitters nails and that made me want to try this NOTD.

Here are the products that I used:

From Left to Right: Caronia Base Coat, Caronia Top Coat, Bobbie in Star Gazer and Bobbie in Flower Girl

Glitters combination of Red and Black for Php 9.75

For the glitter nails, first thing you have to do is to apply the base coat on your nail. Then, without waiting for base coat to dry, dip it on the glitters. Make sure you're able to cover the entire nail. Afterwards, tap off any excess and wait for a minute or two before applying the top coat.

I also want to thank Charles of Wickermoss for giving me this very beautiful nail polish- Bobbie in Star Gazer. She actually gave me several other things but I wasn't able to post them all. A big thank you to Charles! *hugs* She's very sweet and thoughtful.

That's it Pansit!!!

Nail of the Day: BNC 335 X OMG Cracked Nail Polish in Limestone

Merry Christmas, everyone!

I was supposed to post this three weeks ago but I had a busy schedule so I wasn't able to update as often as I wanted to. Nevertheless thank you to those who kept visiting my blog!

Here's a simple NOTD. :P

BTW, Thank you to Locke who sent me super awesome NAIL POLISHES! I was surprised cause I only won one item but she included several other things in the package. A BIG thank you, Locke! Love ya, sis! I can't wait to try them all. ^__^

I bought OMG POlishes @Great Finds (Above Parco, Greenland)

Unlike the Etude House crackling nail polish, this works well on regular nail polishes. It doesn't smudge the base nail polish. At the same time, it cracks thinly so it looks better with lighter base nail colors.

From left to right: BNC 335, OMG Cracked Nail Polish in Limestone

Locke sent me a bunch of nail polishes which includes BNC 335. I think BNC cost at around Php 100. It's a Korean nail polish. :) On the other hand, OMG is a local brand nail polish! It's a lot cheaper than the Etude House crackling nail polish hence, this is a great alternative to those who want to try crackling nail polish.

BTW, You can check out my review on Etude House Crackling nail polish here

And since OMG nail polishes are very affordable, I bought a few shades. I also bought something from Klik. You can also buy these at Landmark, Trinoma.

Have a great day! :)

Nail of the Day: AQmore's Turkey Blue in Matte Finish

A few months ago I won MissKatV's giveaway and I was entitled to choose two nail polishes. Here's one of them: Turkey Blue.

I've been loving the matte finish ever since I tried Etude House matte nail polishes. And now that I have a mattifying top coat, I'm addicted in applying it on my nail polish.

I love the packaging and unlike other nail polishes, it doesn't have a strong and harsh smell.

AQmore's Turkey Blue is a beautiful blue-green shade. I love the fact that it is water based and chemical free. This means that this product is very gentle on nails.

I love painting my nails and one thing I don't like about regular nail polishes is that they leave yellow stains. With this nail polish, I don't have to worry about yellow stains anymore. At the same time, I don't need to use acetone to remove it. I can simply peel it off by dipping my fingers in warm water for 30 seconds and the nail polish can be peeled of easily without damaging the nails. Moreover, it dries quickly and even faster with the mattifying top coat. Overall, it's a great nail polish for girls who are on the go.

Have a great day! :)

Nail of the Day: Etude House's BR307 and PP904

Another Sem, another NOTD! :P

I went for a neutral look so I decided to use a nude shade from Etude House Nail Polish. Then to add a twist, I applied a darker nail polish on my fourth finger.

Etude House BR207 and PP904

Products I used:

From Left to Right: ABB Nail Lacquer, Tony Moly TC02, Etude House PP904, Etude House BR307

Product Review: ABB Nail Lacquer

Have you heard of a mattifying top coat?

I became aware of this nail product when E.L.F released its own mattifying top coat. However, it's not available in the Philippines. I did see some online sellers who carry that product but I find it quite expensive including the shipping fee. So I decided to just let go of the idea. Anyway, I was able to buy matte nail polishes from Etude House. But then, last week, my mom and I went to 999 Divisoria and I saw a nail art store which sells a wide variety of nail tools. I had a hunch that they carry a mattifying top coat so I asked the SA. Unfortunately,  she's not aware of that type of top coat. I was about to leave the store when I saw this bottle (photo image above) and I was really curious about it. I asked the SA again about the bottle and she told me that it's a top coat. Now, usually top coats are colorless or, at least, transparent. I had this intuition that it's what I've been looking for all along. So I tested it on my nails and I was completely blown away.

It made my nail polish beautifully matte. I love it!

In terms of price, I was able to haggle it for Php 130. It's quite difficult to haggle in Divisoria nowadays especially if you're not buying a lot from one store. Unlike in China, you can really haggle for half the price. O_O Although, sellers can be scary sometimes. Once you have agreed with the price, you can never back out.

Anyway, unlike matte nail polishes, this lasts longer. I've previously reviewed Etude Matte Polishes and generally, they chip after a day or two. But when I used the mattifying top coat, my nail polish can last for a week.

What I really like about this product is the idea of being able to mattify any nail polish that I have. I don't have to buy individual matte nail polishes since I can use whatever I want and simply transform them to matte. Hence, it's a lot cheaper to just buy a mattifying top coat.

Thank you to whoever invented this!

PS. BTW, I heard from a friend that Etude House also released its mattifying top coat. You might want to check that out! :P

Nail of the Day: San San's Sea Green

Last Saturday, Nani and I went to SM Fairview to watch Three Musketeers. And while waiting for the movie, we decided to window shop. Then I saw HBC and I was surprised to see that they have a lot of nail polishes.

Some of the colors are the typical ones that you see on other local brands. But I saw this one shade that is unique so I thought of giving San San Nail polishes a try. San San Nail Polishes are very affordable for a price of Php37 each. The packaging is very simple; I kind of like the blue cap with a silver lining and the glass bottle looks very chic.

I grabbed a beautiful nail polish shade- SEA GREEN. It's a good looking green pastel color. I thought of getting a pale blue nail polish as well but I remember that I won two nail polishes from MissKatv's giveaway in which I chose two gorgeous blue shades. Anyhow, I tried it out right away and fell in love with it.

San San's Sea Green: Just One Coat

The consistency of the nail polish was just right- not too thick or too thin. You could already appreciate the color payoff with just one coat.

Here are some swatches:

Have you tried San San Nail Polishes?

What shade/s do you like?

Feel free to comment below. :)

Have a great day, everybody!
