Food Trip: Papa John's Pizza

As I mentioned previously, Nani and I went to SM Fairview last Saturday. We've been planning to try Papa John's ever since it came to the Philippines. Good thing, I saw a tarpaulin posted somewhere in Fairview stating that Papa John's has opened in SM Fairview.

Nani loves pizza but I think I love pizza more than he does. I can't wait to try this one out because I'm such a pizza lover. Nani told me that this is one of the top pizza food chains in the US  so I was really expecting a lot (not to mention, the meals were quite expensive).

Anyway, here's what we ordered:

We decided to share the BEEF AND BACON RICE DISH because what we really wanted was to savor their pizza. We didn't want to get to full.

Beef and Bacon- Php 160

This rice dish was just as good as a pizza. It tasted good. But I must say I was quite disappointed they don't serve Lasagna. That's what I've been wanting to eat. Although they have a good variety of pasta dishes, I wish they would offer lasagna.

In terms of the menu, I must say Pizza Hut is still the best because it offers several dishes.

To add more flavor, we decided to order a side item- BBQ PORK RIBS.

BBQ Pork Ribs- Php 190

This dish was really good even the smell was mouth watering. However, I wish they provided more BBQ sauce because definitely the sauce included in the dish was not enough. Nani and I had to order an additional sauce for Php 20. Nonetheless, the ribs were deliciously chewy and flavorful.

I love how our plates looked like! :)

And the moment we've been waiting for:

Lastly, we ordered 9" Texas Heat for Php 300. It taste good but nothing extraordinary. I love the crust and the complimentary dip(butter?) and bite (Jalapeno). I want to try Spicy Italian Meatball, Chicken BBQ, Super Papa and Fiesta Spice next time we visit this place.

Overall, the food quality was really good- Better ingredients, Better Pizza. They all tasted great (I can't wait to try other dishes). The customer service was good as well. At the same time, the ambiance of their place was clean, refreshing and peaceful. It's a perfect place for family gathering or a date with a love one.

The prices were steep but it's still a good place to try. Also, they have delivery hotline- 921-7764/ 921-8423.

Have you eaten at Papa John's? Let me know! Just leave a comment below. :P

AWW now I made myself hungry again. :P

Have a lovely day, everyone! Happy Halloween! :)

Nail of the Day: San San's Sea Green

Last Saturday, Nani and I went to SM Fairview to watch Three Musketeers. And while waiting for the movie, we decided to window shop. Then I saw HBC and I was surprised to see that they have a lot of nail polishes.

Some of the colors are the typical ones that you see on other local brands. But I saw this one shade that is unique so I thought of giving San San Nail polishes a try. San San Nail Polishes are very affordable for a price of Php37 each. The packaging is very simple; I kind of like the blue cap with a silver lining and the glass bottle looks very chic.

I grabbed a beautiful nail polish shade- SEA GREEN. It's a good looking green pastel color. I thought of getting a pale blue nail polish as well but I remember that I won two nail polishes from MissKatv's giveaway in which I chose two gorgeous blue shades. Anyhow, I tried it out right away and fell in love with it.

San San's Sea Green: Just One Coat

The consistency of the nail polish was just right- not too thick or too thin. You could already appreciate the color payoff with just one coat.

Here are some swatches:

Have you tried San San Nail Polishes?

What shade/s do you like?

Feel free to comment below. :)

Have a great day, everybody!

Maggie and Nani: Birthday Dinner

For my birthday, I decided to meet up with my high school friends who have been very close to my heart. I planned a simple dinner with them  as I wanted everything to be as intimate as possible. I'm not fond of extravagant parties so we had dinner at home. I also asked a friend of mine to bring Horror DVDs that we could watch. ^___^

On a side note: I made a Birthday video with Nani. We now have an official Youtube channel: NaniGgie.

Before watching the video, you may pause/stop my background music on the bottom part of this page.

Anyway, here are some photos of the food I prepared last Saturday. I decided to prepare Asado (Pampanga's Style), Chicken Wings, Macaroni, Rice, Corn with Melted Cheese and Blueberry Cheesecake. I wasn't able to take a photo of the chicken wings because our angel (Kasambahay/maid) served it last while we were eating. ^__^

That's all folks!

<3

PS. I just wanna show you guys the current condition of my skin. My skin is far from perfect and as I've said before, I am still battling with acne/pimples. I just don't want to make you think that my skin is super flawless when in reality, it's not. There are times that my skin looks better but you know, we all have our bad days. WAHAHAHA! If you're frustrated about your skin... I can totally relate. But remember HOLD YOUR HEAD UP HIGH! Never let acne/pimples rip off the happiness within you.

BTW, Thanks to Valerie who sent me these good looking contact lenses!

My eyes look so cool. :P

HOW TO: Make Fried Oreos

Just a quick and simple recipe. This is great for Christmas. You can have this as a snack or give it away to kids. ^__^

Ingredients:
Oreos
Pancake Mix
Egg
Flour
Coco Flakes
Granulated Sugar
Cinnamon Powder (Optional)

Here's a photo to give you an idea on how coco flakes look like:
Bought this at Rustan's
This reminds of me Dunkin Donut. I know they have a doughnut that has coco flakes. I forget the name but I notice that DD doesn't serve it anymore. :( It's one of my favorites. (lalo na kapag munchkin donuts)

Procedure:

1. Freeze the Oreos for 3 Hours.

2. In the mean time, make your Pancake Batter. Combine the pancake Mix and the egg then add water but make sure that the consistency is still thick. We want the batter to stick to the oreos so that the entire cookie will be covered. You may add Cinnamon in the pancake mix as well.

3. After 3 hours, prepare the Oreos on a plate. If you don't have any, you can also use Cream-Os. ^___^

4. On a separate bowl, combine the flour (you can also use the Pancake Flour), granulated sugar and Coco Flakes. Optional: You may omit the Coco Flakes on the mix and just use it later on for toppings.

5. Coat the oreos with the Pancake Batter then with the flour mixture. (This will create the crunchy outer layer of the bread)

6. Deep Fry. Wait till it is golden brown then remove the fried oreos from the pan and drain on paper towels.

7. Let it cool slightly before serving. You may put coco flakes as toppings or put a vanilla Ice cream on top!

Have a great week, everyone! :)

Maggie And Nani: Nani's Birthday Gift

One thing I like about a guy is being thoughtful. I don't demand for gifts or anything material but I want more of attention and love. I am more of a quality-time person. Nani and I don't celebrate monthsaries; we don't exchange gifts. But we make it a point that we spend quality time together. I love going to their place and bake or cook for him and his family. I love talking to him and just have some good laughs. That pretty much makes my day.

And sometimes I kid him that the reason why he's getting fat is because of me.

LOVE TRIVIA: When he told me his favorite cake is blueberry cheesecake, I was excited to learn how to bake one. That started my passion for cooking. Hindi talaga ako mahilig magluto. But he inspired me. He supports me with anything and everything I do. <3

For my birthday, I told Nani that I just want to spend the day with him. And I was quite surprised when he told me that he was planning to buy me a gift. He wanted to buy a satchel bag and he wanted me to be the one to pick and choose. I was surprised that he remembered that bag. I mentioned that to him a long time ago when we went to Cubao Expo along with our colleagues and I never thought , he'd still remember it. So I therefore conclude that he is a great listener and a good observant. I think I've mentioned before that Nani bought me new flats just because he noticed I only have one pair of flats which was worn out already. (as in ngumingiti na ang sapatos na yon)

So yesterday, we went to SM North Edsa to buy the satchel bag. We were planning to buy it after the Canon Product Launch.

BUT THEN....

Bought a pair for Php 995, originally Php 1995

I saw a great pair of wedges that was on sale at Manels. And it was like LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT. I told Nani that I really really want to buy it because I don't think I'll be able to go back to SM North soon. And even if I do, I might not be able to see those wedges again. Then Nani told me that he'd buy the shoes as a gift instead. It's like he knew that the shoes would make my day. IT DID. DEFINITELY DID.

I initially wanted the nude wedges but the only stock available was size 5. I'm size 7 so there's no way my feet can fit on those shoes. :( But then, I really really wanted the style and structure of the wedges so I tried the other pair that has animal prints.

AND I LOVE IT!

They may look heavy but, really, they're not.

Looked great with my outfit!

Look at Nani's face over there! Isn't he cute? <3

Nani and I have the same passion for shoes. Whenever we go to malls, Nani would go to Nike and Adidas. I really like picking the shoes I'd want him to buy and wear because we have the same taste. Sasabihin niya pa, "Ganda naman ng pili mo, babe. Maganda nga to sakin." Likewise, he also gives comments about the shoes (or technically anything) I want to buy. I like it when he shows interest with my shopping. I was so happy that he liked what I chose. He paid for it and I was thanking him the whole night. <3

THANK YOU LABLAB! <3

That's all for today!

Have a great day!
