I bought these at Landmark, Trinoma last April. I haven't used them yet. (tingin ko after one year pa ulit kami makakalagaw doon ni Pangga. Katamad kasi ang layo. Haha.) Aren't they cute? Which one do you like best?

Thank you Sophie Paris Philippines! :)
Almost a month ago, Ms. Rina sent me a message saying that Sophie Paris Philippines appreciates the reviews I've made about the Sophie Martin Lipsticks. They would like to send me some Sophie products to try and I received the items last week! Yey :)

| Sophie Exfoliating |
I knew that my mom was going to enjoy these products too so I decided to share these with her. But I think she'll use these more than I will since she's more conscious about her body skin care. She loves exfoliating her skin and applying body butter or lotion. :P
Thank you Ms. Rina for sending me a wonderful message. Thank you to Sophie Paris Philippines for sending me these lovely items too! My mom and I will definitely enjoy these Sophie products! :)

Nani and Maggie: Saturday Food Trip
Another fun Saturday with Pangga!!!!
We had DVD Marathon the entire day. And the best thing about our day was the FOOD!
For lunch, I ordered Tapsilog and Porksilog at Tapsilog Avenue in Marikina, infront of Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Marikina. All their silog meals are priced at Php 45 with free soup so they're very affordable and student-budget-friendly. Also, they are currently having a free Ice Tea promo, which you can avail only when you dine in their food store, until June 12, 2012. They're open 24 hours so you can call them @ 268-1645 and order silog meals anytime. They have free delivery as well. :)
Menu: Tapsilog, Tocilog, Cornsilog, Bangsilog, Hotsilog, Hamsilog, Porksilog, Burgersilog, Chixsilog and Longsilog.
I love eating at their food store because it is clean and the food is presentable and delicious. I love the fact that they serve their silog meals with fried rice. But I was turned off by the customer service they had when I called for delivery. I could tell from our conversation that the employee who answered the phone was inexperienced. I had to call twice because he didn't ask how much I'd be paying so he could prepare the change. He also had a hard time looking for our house, thus, he had to call twice or thrice. I think they should improve on that because if they encounter an impatient customer, they'll be scolded or reprimanded. Overall, I enjoyed the food but the service could have been better.

| ^_____^ |
Nani and I enjoyed the food and the movies. We watched five (5) movies: Hanna, In Time, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Babae sa Septik Tank and Corazon: Ang Unang Aswang. I love our Saturday bonding time. :) I'll definitely miss this once the classes start in June.
Anyway, I hope you also had a great weekend! :)
Live your life to the fullest!

How to: Mattify your Lipstick
Matte Lip Creams are quite popular nowadays. Amidst the cosmetic companies coming up with their own matte lip cream line and with such an amazing shade collection, these lip creams are becoming hard to resist. I first learned about them when Shen blogged about NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams. I was very impressed on how they looked on her lips- simply gorgeous. Since then, I've been lemming to own a matte lip cream. I found a seller on Facebook but the transaction didn't push through. I really wanted to try one but my frugal self kept me from buying any matte lip cream. If you think about it, they can cost a lot especially if you want to try a number of shades. I know, for some, they think these lip creams are cheap because they only cost around Php 300+ compare to buying a lipstick from Revlon and the like which could cost Php 900+ a piece. However, I tried to resist buying makeup that I knew I'd probably not finish at all.
Then I saw a super cheap matte lip cream called EXCEL PARIS which is being sold online for Php 100. It made me think if I wanted to buy it, but then again I thought of looking for an alternative instead.
The good news is, yes, there is an alternative to Matte Lip Creams!
You can achieve the same result without shelling out money and the procedure is as easy as 1-2-3. Just do the following steps:
1. Apply your favorite lipstick
2. Apply translucent powder on your lips. (I used Nichido Final Powder in Natural)
3. Smack your lips and you're ready to go. ^___^
That's how easy it is.
For the purpose of this post, I used Sophie Martin lipstick in Russian Red and the result was amazing. I initially tried this procedure using Ever Bilena Deluxe lipstick but the result was not as good as Sophie Martin's. I also tried Revlon, NYX and Ever Bilena Pro Shimmer Lipstick to see if the result would be good as well. Unfortunately, I still did not get the same satisfaction that I got from Sophie Martin. I guess this mattifying trick works best on lipsticks that have good consistency and texture. Otherwise, the lip product will break apart intensifying the lines on your lips. Of course, we don't want that.
Just to reiterate, you can still use any lipstick since it will really turn matte albeit the quality may be compromised. So for best results, use a lipstick that covers the lips pretty well. Remember that you'll be applying powder so if the lip product is not intact, the powder will only emphasize such flaw.
Anyway, here are some photos to show you the result.

Close Up:
You might want to try this first before buying a matte lip cream. You can grab any lipstick shade that you have and turn it matte after application.
There is no need to buy a particular matte lip cream shade in order to achieve matte lips. At the same time, this is a great alternative to those who want to save money. YEY!

SATURFRY: Chili Cheese Fries
Hello, everyone! I hope you're all enjoying summer although it started to rain lately. I'm pretty sure it will rain more frequently as we head towards June. I kind of love rainy days especially when I get to stay at home and just enjoy the chilly weather with some hot chocolate and a comfort food. It is quite relaxing when you can just sit down and watch your favorite shows while munching your favorite snack. Hence, I want to share with you a new comfort food recipe that is both delicious and easy-to-make.
It has been more than a month since the start of my summer break and, yet, I've never been busy. Feel ko tuloy mas stressed pa ako ngayon kung kailan bakasyon. Since I have to work in our family business, I rarely have the time to stay at home and relax.
So, I asked my dad if I can have a break today and he agreed. I asked Nani to visit me at home so that we could cook some good food. My dad even asked me to cook lasagna because my signature lasagna is very delicious. Binola pa ako. Haha. Also, I wanted to try to make chili cheese fries because I don't know any local food store that serves it. I watched some tutorials online for the recipe. However, I decided put a twist to the recipe because most of the ingredients needed weren't available in the supermarket near us.
Before I start with the ingredients, let me tell you that you can use canned chili. It will make your life easier. In my case, I didn't have a choice because Puregold and Parco do not sell canned chili. Moreover, I omitted beans in my homemade chili recipe because, according to the recipe I've read, I needed to soak the beans overnight and apparently, I didn't have the time to do that. (But then I could have used Pork and Beans instead.) Huli na nang narealize ko. Kaboom! HAHA!
Alright, let's get ready to make this delicious comfort food! :)
CHILI CHEESE FRIES
Ingredients:
1 Kilo of Shoestring Fries
1 Can of Kernel Corn
Sour Cream
Spring Onions
Grated sharp cheddar cheese
Chili Sauce:
2 Tablespoons olive oil
6 cloves garlic
1 onion, chopped
1/2 cup Tomato paste
1-2 cups water
2 teaspoons Chili Powder
1/2 teaspoon Paprika
4 pieces siling labuyo
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Salt to taste
Procedure:
1. Deep fry the French Fries until they're golden brown.
2. Saute the garlic and onion. Cook the beef until the water from the beef dries up and beef is slightly brown.
Kailangang mapalambot ang karne.
3. Add the remaining ingredients of the chili sauce to the beef. Let it cook for 3-5 minutes.
4. Using a different pan, melt some butter and cook the kernel corn. (You may pepper and salt)
5. Then plate the fries. Put the chili sauce, add a little bit of sour cream, corn and grated cheddar cheese, and, finally, top it off with spring onions.
6. Serve it with love. <3 Keberkley lang.

Let me know what you think about it! I also want to know if you're interested in more recipes on my blog.
Have a great day! :)
