Photo of the Day
Another edit. :D For better picture quality kindly visit my deviantart or multiply.
This is part of my photoshoot yesterday.
Thank you!
Empress Project
I've been in love with photography since last year. Although I don't have the SLR or expensive digicams, I really wanted to pursue photography and create good pictures with different themes and concepts. I've been creating self portraits (check my deviantart and multiply; links at the side bar) and it really makes me happier now that I can incorporate make-up and fashion styles with photography.
After school, I went home and I've decided to have a photoshoot.
I really want a neutral look. I don't really wear heavy eye make up. I want it to be subtle. I'm really new in applying make up so somehow I look like I have no make up (I did something with my eyes but it's not obvious in the picture.) I guess the camera is also at fault that it can't capture minute details. But oh well... I still enjoyed my silly shots.
Eyes: (Shawill Pallete) Gold and Black
(Avon Pallete) Brown and Mocha
Elianto Mascara
Sara Lee Eyeliner
Face: EverBilena Foundation Stick (Miel- effective concealer, pinkish)
EverBilena Dual Foundation Cake (Oriental)
Maybelline BB cream (I applied it on my cheeks and above my lips
Lips: Everbilena Dual Foundation... (not really a good substitute for nude lipstick but for the sake of this photoshoot, it will do)
So this is my first edit. I have several pictures outtakes and probably, I'll make another edit next time.

I'm really petite... Tiny winy... hahaha :P
Thanks, everyone! I welcome comments and suggestions. :P

Acne Scarring
Blair is one of my favorite Make up Gurus in youtube. And I'm really amazed that she really went out to show in public her face without make up (using an HD cam). She discussed about acne scarring. And somehow I can relate because although I didn't suffer from severe acne like she did, I have acne scarring near my cheeks and uneven skin tone right above my lips.
Being a make up guru and probably a popular one, a lot of people perceive of you as having a perfect skin. It's really great of Blair to say, "No, I don't have a perfect skin."
In a world full of deception especially in the age of "photoshopping", many of us might be troubled by our skin problems thinking that we're not perfect enough; we're not beautiful enough to be confident with ourselves.
So here's her video about her foundation routine. Although I find her make up quite expensive especially here in the Philippines, this video is still helpful. If you have the money to spend, I guess the products she used are available here (probably Rustan's and other high end malls). Enjoy her video!
Products she used:
clinique pore minimizer and t-zone anti-shine gel
studio gear prime objective primer
clinique even better foundation in "#1 alabaster"
amazing cosmetics concealer in "ultra fair"
mac select sheer loose powder in "NW20"
nars bronzer in "laguna"
mac mineralized skin finish in "soft and gentle"
mac mineralized skin finish in "gold deposit"
nars blush in "orgasm"
nars lip gloss in "turkish delight"
Tools:
mac 190 foundation brush
mac 195 concealer brush
mac 182 kabuki brush
mac 134 bronzer brush
mac 165 highlighting brush
mac 129 blush brush

Updates!!!!
Yesterday I went to Gateway to see a movie with my boyfriend. After the movie, I've decided to have a quick look at watsons and see if they have new make-up stuffs. And I didn't fail. THERE ARE NEW MAKE-UP brands!
Watsons already has SHAWILL and 4U2. I've seen 4U2 in SM. Cubao and Marikina. I think all SM has that brand but it's really a convenient thing that watsons now has it.
The 12 eyeshadow pallete of Shawill... is.. again... SOLD OUT. I went to the 4U2 stall. They sell super cute eyeshadows. I think they are more pigmented than that of shawill. (i tried it and compared but, unfortunately, I don't have pictures!!!) However they're more expensive. For a price of P230+, you only have 4 eyeshadows. Their 8 eyeshadow pallete, is worth P924. I forget if it's 924 or 994. But it's bigger like the circular eyeshadows of MAC. Hahaha. I'll check it later.
One thing you might want to check out is their more affordable packages. I'm surprised they have BB creams. YES. BB Creams for P194.00. You got that right! hahaha. It's the most affordable BB cream I've ever seen. But still I'm not convinced if it really works. The packaging is simply plastic and it's with the other make -up stuff like cheap make up brushes, eyeshadows and the like. Maybe I'll buy it later... and see if it works. A disadvantage would be no available testers for it. But for the price, I can gamble for it. :P
Another update is that I bought MAYBELLINE BB CREAM and so far! I LOVE IT!
I have a better picture of it but my phone hangs whenever I use the bluetooth so I don't know. I guess I have to get my digicam for this. :P
It's different form all the other BB creams I've tried. I've tried Elianto and even Missha Perfect BB cream Cover. Both makes your face oily but the Maybelline BB cream makes your face matte. When I applied it on my face, it's easier to apply because it's so smooth. It has a heavier coverage because as you apply it you see the consistency of the cream on your face. It really makes your face glow. But as said in other reviews, after a couple of hours or more it blends to your skin tone. (which I guess is better than fade altogether) However one thing you should know is that even if the whitening effect diminished, the coverage is still there- the blemishes are still covered and if you have uneven skin tone, it helps reduce it. I definitely recommend you to try this. In the past, I've seen other reviews by people from abroad saying that it's not worth the price. The packaging is so small and it's almost worth a little less than P1000.
Well... BEHOLD PHILIPPINES, Maybelline BB cream is worth only P299. YES! If you're not really using so much of the cream, it can last for 4-6 months. If you really put a lot (which I think is not necessary considering the heavy coverage), maybe it can last for 2-3 months. One tip for using this BB cream , the sales laldy told me that it acts as a foundation and/or primer. For better results, use it as a primer then put powder or foundation powder on your face. If you can afford to buy the maybelline minerals, try doing that with their mineral foundation. I think the effect is significant. If you also have the ellana minerals, try it and see better results.
Today is January 22, 2010. I have a make-up list for February that you may want to buy too! If you bought them already and you think i shouldn't buy them, just comment me and I'll really appreciate it. If you have suggestions and other ideas, COMMENT PLEASE!
1. Etude Haul with Marither ( I Still don't know if I'm going to buy the BB cream. :))
2. Ellana Minerals (I wantted to buy their kabuki then concealer, foundation, blush and lipgloss)
3. ECO TOOL BRUSHESSSS!! (A Must Have! Visit Ebay.ph for more affordable transactions... I visited a multiply which sells them but they're so much expensive like they go P1200+ exclusive of shipping)
4. NUDE LIPSTICK!!! (Can you suggest any brand??)
Well.. I can only think of 4 so there you go. If ever I can't save that much money than the list can still apply for March which is GRADUATING MONTH. Yes, I'm graduating and I think I might ask Dad and Mom for a simple gift... :)) Make up gift that's what! :P
PS. I forgot again to put watermarks. Oh well. :))

:)
Hi guys! It's been weeks since I've updated. I'm very busy with schoolwork since we'll be graduating soon! yey!
So today I bought some stuffs. If you haven't heard of Shawill cosmetics, I recommend you to give it a try. I believe it's new in the market. It's made in China or to be accurate it's packaged in China but produced in Italy. I am really interested with their eye shadows because they're very pigmented and affordable. I also bought make-up cake from Ever Bilena because I heard it really last long. I haven't used any foundation cake or powder when I started wearing make up. I started with liquid foundation so this is really something new to me. I hope the results will be promising. :P

I love being Petite.
Alright.... Alright...
Sometimes I don't. Honestly, I wanted to grow a couple of inches taller because I hate being called "short". For pinays, the average height is around 5 feet. But I guess, there are still people who think that being tall makes you more attractive and appealing. Sometimes, the height helps but, on the contrary, it's just a matter of wearing the right clothes. I've seen a lot of petite girls in school (probably shorter than I am) but they definitely make guys turn their heads because of the way these girls wear their clothes and how confident they are with their look. That's something I want to build in myself: the confidence and fashion power. :P
I was really surprised to find that one of my favorite beauty blogger is 4'10". She's so pretty and I love reading her blogs. Her name is Jen and she's one of my inspirations for creating this blog. I've only encountered few pinays who create beauty blogs so I thought I could make one. teehee :P
Here's her site: http://www.frmheadtotoe.com/
I'm very sure you'll like her too.
I'm not sure if I'm 5'1" or 5'2" but I'm pretty much in between. One thing I realized is that I have to love my body so that I can appreciate it and work with what I have. I don't want to go through those surgical or medical processes to get taller. But wearing the right clothes can do the magic.
Sometimes it really hurts when people call you short or that some people would comment that you don't look like your age (it may sound flattering but once you hit 20, it simply makes one think you can't take him/her seriously). But I have to love myself. I should love myself.
Looking tall shoudn't be a matter of height but that of the heart.

Remembering 2009
There are some beauty products/brands that I've discovered. I really wanted to share them in a more detailed manner. But since vacation is almost over and I don't have my time to really make a long blog about them, you can simply check them out on your own.
These are the brands that I find interesting:
e.l.f
Ellena Minerals
elianto
EverBilena
The Face Shop
Organic Thanakha
For e.l.f, it's products are very affordable. You can find it in every SM Mall and Robinson's Mall. At first I ignored this brand because their packaging isn't appealing enough to catch my attention. But thanks to Youtube make up gurus like bubz beauty and Juicystar07, I discovered that some brands that they use are available here in the Philippines. Not only that, most of e.l.f products are worth P129.50.
Ellena Minerals: I have yet to try this brand. I was planning to buy online since they don't have a store but I wasn't able to. I'm looking forward to buying their brushes because they're more afforadable than Body shop or any other professional brushes you find in malls. I'm also interested about their product concept which is mineral (organic). I really wanted to try them out... but I guess I have to learn how to put make up on first. :).
Elianto: One of the few korean brands available in the market. I wanted to try their eyeshadows and blushes (the baked ones) but they're way out of my budget so... I guess I just have to save money this year. They also have BB Creams. I plan to make a different blog about BB creams because so far, I have elianto BB cream and Missha perfect BB cream cover. The face shop also has it but it's quite expensive compare to the other two. I heard about BB creams through Bubzbeauty and her review convinced me to try it. Surprisingly, I don't use much of the BB creams to improve the skin problems that, at first, I thought can only be solved by this kind of make-up. And I'm gonna share that to you later. :P
The FaceShop: I heard about this brand through Cla when we went to China. She told me it best suits the asian skin and what she said was somehow true. The thing with faceshop is that it only caters to the people who have fair-light complexion. So although you are asian, the faceshop might not be the brand for you. :P The bright side is that you can afford its products since the prices aren't too expensive. I bought a foundation from them worth P350 and it can last for a 6 months to 1 year depending on the amount you use for each application. I haven't really tried other faceshop products aside from the foundation and make up base which means I have more to discover. WOPPIEE!
Organic Thanakha. :D I knew about their soap but I've never heard of their creams until my older brother bought one. It's very effectve in healing pimples/blemishes. :D I only bought the sample size and so far, I love it.
well... it ends here. :)

I guess it's very wrong to underestimate the quality of local make up brands. I bought their stick foundation worth P165 and it really delivers what it promises. I also use the lip tint and compare to the body shop lip and cheek tint, it doesn't taste/smell unpleasant.
Here's the recent product I've been using for my blemishes and pimples:

Year End Shopping
Although it's christmas time, you probably don't have enough money to buy all the clothes you want. Or at least, buy good clothes to add in your closet. In my case, I enjoy shopping in places where I can bargain the price or somewhere I can find affordable things.
Last Christmas, our family went to SM Cubao to shop since we weren't able to go to tutuban. I'm quite happy with the clothes I bought because they look so cute and chic. :)
If you happen to be petite like me, I bet these kind of clothes would suit you best.

(I love the bottom part!)
The skirt is worth P399 and the dress is P499... There are several clothes @ SM that are less than 500 pesos. You might want to check them out (ladies Section). The rainbow skirt also has a dress version but I just bought it so I can change the top. Since I have a fair complexion, wearing a yellow top can make my skin look whiter. :D Here are some pics of me wearing the skirt with a yellow top.
Yesterday, we went to tutuban (finally) although most of the stores were closed when we arrived. Albeit the limited stores that were open, I still managed to browse and buy good clothes at a very good price.
P 150
P80 Each
P200
I matched my yellow top with the rainbow skirt I bought. And they really looked great together. Matching a dark color like black or brown can be an alternative. :)
I matched the black top with my high waist shorts. If you want to be less reaveling, you can put bolero just like what I did here: :P
Happy 2010!!!
Buying pretty clothes shouldn't be difficult if you know where to go or what to buy. You can buy clothes that are cheap but you definitely don't want to look cheap. What you want is to buy clothes that are AFFORDABLE (I prefer this term than the former) yet they bring out the best in you; look stylish without hurting your wallet. :)
Happy New Year!
Welcome 2010! Let's all hope that this is going to be a fruitful year!
New year, New things, New clothes, New fashion Styles, New everything...
Happy new year!
