Comfy Feet

Heat in the Philippines is taking its toll. It's very hot here in Manila specifically that I suddenly miss our Baguio vacation last Holy Week. Speaking of Baguio, let me share with you the comfort footwear I bought there.

My family and I visited Mines View. I wasn't really expecting anything new to buy because we always visit there every holy week and the stores pretty much sell the same things. Then I saw just one store selling shoes for Php 150 and the shoes look comfortable. I initially wanted the black shoes but it didn't have my size so I opted for the brown one. It comes with different colors and patterns but I chose to go for the simple one-color shoes so that I can pair it up with any of my casual outfits. ^___^

I really like the shoes because it's comfortable for walking however you can really feel that the materials used were low quality. It didn't bother me since I got it for a very low price. Ain't complaining. :P

After visiting Mines View, we went to SM Baguio for some shopping and I bought a pair of slippers. This pair of slippers reminds me of "banig" because I used to sleep on that when I was younger. :P I bought for Php 99.75.

I totally love the design because it looks and feels Filipino. :)

Weeeeeee!

Wearin' it like a boss. :)

Anyway, I'm very satisfied with my purchase and I kind of miss Baguio because the climate there is so much better than here in Manila. I love the cold breeze in the morning! :) Too bad we had to go back earlier than planned because my brothers have some school requirements to finish. :( We only stayed there for 2 days. Hindi namin nasagad ang minsang long weekend. :(

Well, I hope you had a great holy week with your family.

Have a lovely day!

The Biggest Disappointment in Shopping

is buying something for absolutely nothing. O_O

I really wanted to try Eyeliner Pens. And so when I went to the department store the other day, I was torn between choosing the IN2IT and ELF pen liners. The former was a really good liner. It was a rich black color. When applied, the product dried up easily and SA guaranteed it was smudge free. I was really impressed. I was about to buy it when I saw the ELF Stall. I was so stupid for choosing price over quality. O_O

I tried the elf testers but they were completely worn out. The SA who helped me, however, convinced me that the quality of the liner was good and consistent. Since the ELF liner was packaged in a way that you won't be able to test the actual stock you're buying, I simply took the one on the rack and decided to buy it instead of IN2IT's liner.

And what a surprise when I finally opened the packaging and tried to test it on my lids...

Proven Cure for Stress is Shopping. It's a girl thing.

I may not have blogged for quite some time but that doesn't mean I haven't been buying or shopping "girly goodies". I am really stressed out with work not because of the load but because of the schedule. And I partly believe it's because my body seems tired all the time due to lack of sleep. I try my best to sleep 8 hours a day but I just can't sleep well during mornings. It is like my body is hungry for morning life. (can't say it any better)

Shopping helps me cope with stress. It makes me happier although it's tiring to go out during weekends because malls are crowded most of the times. Anyway, I just want to share with you the things I bought for the past months.

I bought this at SM Marikina. It was on sale which is a good thing. And I like the accessory.

Then I bought these really cute bras. It's kinda weird that I'm posting this. -_-

I really like the designs and they're not that expensive. They're below P200. (approx $4.62)

Here are more detailed images. :D

Dunno what happened but the pictures should be viewed landscape.

Anyway, which design did you like best? for me I like the first one. It's simple but it looks elegant with a shinier, lacey design on top. :D

I also bought this earring for P99. (approx $2.29)

My shopping wouldn't be complete without make up (although I try not to buy make up ^__^). I'm currently loving mascaras and highlighters/bronzers.

It's the new IN2IT Mascara. It's small and affordable.

Its wand is different from your regular mascara. This makes you focus on an area of your eye lashes. For me this is really great because you have control on the application of your mascara. Plus, It doesn't clump. :D

Tadaah! I bought another bronzer and all-over-stick from ELF.

You can click this link for my Elf Bronzer Review.

I'm not a blush person. I'd prefer wearing bronzer than blush. ^___^ So if you think putting blush doesn't compliment your look, try putting a highlight or bronzer. :D It's great especially for nude/simple make up look. :D

Try putting highlights above your cheek bones, nose bridge and on your forehead (just above your eyebrows). For me, it gives me a glowing look.

BTW, I just want to share you my current favorite nail polish. I mentioned before that I don't buy high end brands of nail polishes because 1) They're too expensive for my budget; 2) It's quite impractical because I change nail polishes frequently; and 3)There are several affordable nail polishes out there that is worth the attention. :D

I haven't used Sea Green but the grayish green look attracted me to buy it.
I love Satisfaction. It looks like lavender but a little bit paler.

It looks good with my Nani Ring. ^__^

I bought two Caress nail polishes for P27.75. (approx $0.64)
Tehee. :D

Have a great week guys! :D

Turned 2NE1

I'm 21 and still kickin'! ^__^

Sorry guys if this is like my first post for October. There are times I planned to post something but it took time for me to organize my thoughts. I've been thinking A LOT of things lately. Stress. :P

Anyway, it's my birthday and I'm one year older. Time flies so fast. Three years ago I'm just celebrating my debut and now... I'm already frigging 2ne1. I mean... I can't pretend to be a teenager anymore- eighTEEN... nineTEEN, twenTEEN.... and now.. it's really twenty-one. I won't be able to put any "teen" to it. :P I'm now a young adult which means I have more responsibilities.

Dance with my Father... on my 18th Birthday

This year I'm very grateful to God for giving a lot of blessings. I graduated in a good university with the course I really like. And I was able to get a great job as a US stock broker right after school. It's quite difficult to get a job these days. I'm one of the lucky ones who didn't have to extend a bum life being unemployed which is a good thing for a career. There's always progress although one must sacrifice time and social life. I'm not a student anymore. I can't just be absent like cutting classes. I really need to work my ass off if you know what I mean. :P

I really wanna thank my parents and my friends who supports me all the way. I'm 21 and I'm ready to take over the world. LMAO. ^__^

And because it's my birthday... I made a video of myself lip singing... again. HAHAHA.

I'm 2ne1. from Maggie Malonzo on Vimeo.

I simply ironed my hair for this video so it is still curly naturally. But I think I look more mature with my hair straightened. ^__^

2NE1 is known for thick eyeliner and nude lips so that's what I did.

These are the items I bought.

Parisian Flats. Php 399

I love it the first time I tried it. It's so comfy.

I'm such a "Parisian" Girl. Every time I shop for shoes I go to Parisian.

Skinny Pants

They're good as casual or office attire. :P

Php  599.75

Php 499.75

Php 399.75

Php 99 Dark Blue

It's quite a trend having a matte dark blue nails. And it can make your complexion lighter too.

Here in the Philippines, temperature is unbelievable. I don't wanna go out 10 am- 3 pm cause it's really hot outside. Even bringing a handy dandy umbrella won't work. I won't survive the heat.

hehehe.. Nutella. Php 19.75

Sorry.. I finished it up before taking a picture. I can't help it. -_-

And these are all the things I bought for my birthday. :) ^__^ I'm excited to try the Blue Nails. Hehehe.

Virtual Store VS Brick and Mortar Store

(click the image for larger view)

Have you ever tried buying clothes online?

(click the image for larger view)

I bought these items in an online store. I've read quite a number of reviews about it. Some reviews are good, some are bad. In that case, I gotta make the verdict myself.

Most Pinays nowadays buy Korean clothes on resellers online. Even I tried to buy from them but I always thought they're pretty damn expensive. I wondered who their suppliers are. I wandered around the internet and found out how high they set their mark up when selling these clothes. It's like paying double, really.

I wanted to buy these clothes but I want to know where I can reach the supplier itself so I can get the items at lower prices. And I didn't fail. Thanks google! But that's not really the problem. Price isn't really the only factor here. Most of us would buy these clothes at a higher price but for a lower quality. Before,  I'd rather go to Divisoria or Tutuban to haggle clothes rather than buying clothes online with a double markup plus shipping fee.  But when I discovered a website that offers these items at a very low price with no minimum quantity requirement, my jaw dropped. I want to buy online! I gotta try this.

However, I want to warn you that although they're cheap, the quality of the clothes can be either uber disappointing or (hopefully) surpringly satisfactory. It's like a 50-50 deal. I don't really know what to expect. I can't rely on the images or any visual presentation of the clothes because they're simply imitations of the authentic, branded one.

Well, anyway, I'll make a review and I'll make a resolution on this. ONLINE STORE VS BRICK AND MORTAR STORE. Of course we want to shop in the mall but we can't deny that those Korean/Japanese clothes that can only be accessed online are tempting.

Anyway, just a quick question. What is your favorite item here? I'm excited about the high waist shorts!

What I've been eyeing lately

HIGH WAIST DENIM SHORTS

I've been loving the "high waist trend" ever since the high waist skirt is out in the market. Every time I go to a clothing store, that's the first thing I look for. I love how it compliments my body shape. Since I'm petite but have slender legs, it makes me look taller.

I first fell in love with HWDS when I saw my batchmate rock that look in Lookbook.nu.
She's also a graduate in Ateneo and I really love her fashion style.

Here's a link of her look:
LOOKBOOK.nu: "Sail Home" by Kryz Uy: "Made It Striped Linen Top, Topshop High Waist Shorts, Gold and Pearls, What a Girl Wants Casio-esque Gold Watch"

I love love love that look! :)

LOVELY DRESSES

Who can say no to this look? It' so simple and cute.
The skirt is plain pretty. :) I love the tones of the dress. they're so warm in the eyes. If you have a fair complexion, this will definitely look good on you!

FLORAL PRINTED SKIRTS

This combination is definitely a thumbs up. I love how Korean designs are chic. Ever since the Korean hype, I love shopping for clothes. I've become conscious of what looks good on me too.  Our Pinay body frames are somehow the same with theirs so most of us easily fell in love with their designs and fashion style. ^__^

LACE DRESS

Looking so young and fabulous...
A lot of designs that come out in the market today are about lace.
If there's such a thing that every girl must have a LBD (Little Black Dress), I sure recommend having a lace dress too.

Black Lace Dress. :)

CELLPHONE

I need a new phone. My Samsung phone is lag already and I can't even open a message without it hanging. :P

I want a full qwerty pad for a phone. Before, I want a touch screen for a phone but I now I joined the bandwagon for QPADs! I'm eyeing three units to become my new phone.

SAMSUNG OMNIA PRO B7730

It's more affordable than the other two Nokia E72 and E73.
I've read a lot of review about it but what worries me the most is the possibility
of Lag Navigation. That's what I experienced with my current Samsung Phone.
I've always been a Samsung Fan so when Samsung i450 came out, I was excited.
It was the only Samsung phone that has a Symbian OS. Meaning, my OS looks much like
Nokia but it's still Samsung. :P

Here's a pic of the phone I'm using:

Next choices are Nokia E72:

A friend of mine recommended me this unit because that's what she's using and she fell in love with it.
It's Wifi ready and it has a lot of features and stuff like that. I like it too but I think it's a little pricey than the Samsung B7330. It's somewhere P16K +.
Funny thing is... I bought my Samsung i450 for P19K. It's not even touchscreen. :( And it lags. :(
no games. :( But what I like about it is the music player. ^__^ I was too excited about it I wasn't able to review other units. My bad. :(

Oh well... I learned my lesson which is why I'm looking for other options! ^__^

My Third Choice is Nokia E73.

My friend told me E72 and E73 are somewhat the same but I love the new feature of E73.
Maybe I'll wait for a few more months for the price to drop. ^__^

And maybe during those times.. I'll find better deals too.

If you have any suggestions on what phone I should buy, do leave me a message of comment below! :)

Have a great day guys!
