Product Swatch: ELF Beauty Manual Face Edition

I got this as a gift last Christmas and this ELF Beauty Manual was given to me by a classmate because she knew I love makeup. (Thanks, Kim!) Good thing, I didn't give in to the temptation of buying something like this because, even though it is affordable to many, it may not be that budget friendly for a student like me. Naubos na ang baon sa kakapaphotocopy ng mga cases. :P Money Saved! :P

I like the idea of a makeup notebook. It's very handy and at the same time it conserves space in
your bag. No one would really recognize this as a makeup "kit". Kudos to ELF!

Makeup Guide for Beginners

I'm really glad my classmate bought this for me. I love illuminating creams. My favorite ELF all over stick in Golden Peach has been discontinued and these creams can be great substitute.

Above: 4 Shimmery Creams, Bottom: 4 Cream Concealers
The concealers are creamy and I like the fact that there are different shades included in this manual. You can mix the colors to match your skin.

Left: Blush, Right: Bronzer
I think the blush and bronzer are just right for my warm skin tone. I can't wait to try them out.

Direct Sunlight, Not blended

With Flash, Not blended

Concealer Creams
Blush and Bronzer

I will try to make a product review soon. I haven't really used this manual so I can't say so much about it yet. It looks promising though. :P If you have tried this product, feel free to share your experience.

Have a great day!

Product Review: Sophie Martin Lipstick in Caramel Sugar and Cotton Peach

Sophie Martin in Nudes and Peaches
Hello, girls! I know this is long overdue but, as they say, better late than never. :) I finally had the time to swatch the remaining two lipsticks I haven't reviewed for Sophie Martin. Phew!

From left to right (without Flash): Velvet Nude, Caramel Sugar, Mango Peach, Cotton Peach

From left to right (with Flash): Velvet Nude, Caramel Sugar, Mango Peach, Cotton Peach

From top to bottom: Velvet Nude, Caramel Sugar, Mango Peach, Cotton Peach

Here are the swatches for Sophie Martin Lipstick in Caramel Sugar:

My skin after swimming last Sunday... namamalat

Direct Sunlight

With Flash: Caramel Sugar

Here are the swatches for Sophie Martin Lipstick in Cotton Peach:

With Flash: Cotton Peach

Kemper lang ang smile ko! Wahahaha!

What I like:
-the packaging is really cute
-they all smell delicious
-very creamy and pigmented (it won't look bad even on dry lips
-very affordable (retails for Php 79 but I bought them for Php 70)

What I don't like:
-name of the shade on the label is too small (but not a major major problem. haha!)

What I love about these are the consistency and pigmentation of each lipstick. All the lipsticks are creamy and pigmented so your expectations are pretty much the same. Furthermore, the color pay off is exquisite- something you wouldn't expect on a very cheap makeup.

There's nothing I can really complain about Sophie Martin Lipsticks because their quality caught me by surprise considering the price I paid for each item. The packaging is pretty decent and sturdy especially if you store them well. Though I would appreciate it if they label the names of each lipstick in a different manner. I find it difficult to get the shades that I like without reading the entire label because the name of the shade doesn't stand out from the rest of the description. Other than that, I'm very satisfied with my purchase.

Finally, I'm done with Sophie Martin Lipstick review. :P

Kopiccino: The Best Instant Coffee I've Ever Tried

Have you tried the Kopiko Kopiccino? If not, you might want to replace your old morning coffee to this new flavor of Kopiko coffee. It was love at first taste. Nani loves it too; he drank 3 cups of this in one day. That was quite unhealthy. Haha! But who can blame him?

OOTD: Wearin' Heart for Summer

Hi, everyone! I hope you're still enjoying summer despite the intolerable heat in the Philippines, except in Baguio. Yesterday, Nani and I went out for a date and our trip to Trinoma was very exhausting because the heat was so intense I wanted to jump into a pool. Ganon kalala. >_< Sumakay muna kami ng jeep papuntang Commonwealth tapos tsaka kami nakasakay ng van papuntang Trinoma. Buti na lang malakas aircon ng van dahil kadalasan walang epek yung aircon sa mga public transpo vehicle ngayon.

It has been a year since we visited Trinoma so Nani and I planned to have a date there. It was a big busy place. The place was just crowded with people shopping, eating and hanging out. It is a great mall but, to be honest, I could settle for smaller malls like SM Marikina, Sta. Lucia or Robinson's Metroeast. Maybe, it is just me but I don't like crowded places and at the same time, it is quite far from our place. At kung iisipin, magmamcdo/jollibee lang naman ako... lalayo pa ba ako? Wahahahaha! Di ko naman afford iyong kakain sa mga mamahaling restaurant or boutique. :P In fairness, Trinoma has a great landscape and environment. It is definitely a great place to hang out every once in a while.

Anyway, here's my LOTD and OOTD.

As always, my make up is nothing but the same old routine.

Pumoposing. Kemper lang!

Sorry for my unruly hair. :P I decided not to have my hair rebonded/straightened despite the many tempting deals and new treatments available in the market. I wanted to try Japanese Straight or Cold Smoothing Treatment but I made up mind to let my hair be HAIRself. So yeah... hello there, curly hair!

Me wearing a 3/4 sleeves with a heart design in the middle... I love it.

Bought this cute necklace from Kitshop, unfortunately, the store is already closed. :(

Epic Cuteness!!!

I also love the crystal beads design. :)

Wearing shorts that I bought @Tutuban

High waist shorts siya talaga pero hindi ko na lang tinuck in yung blouse ko kasi di bagay :P

Nani and I saw the movie Wrath of the Titans. This movie is quite special to us because the first installment, Clash of the Titans, was the first movie we saw together. *insert kilig here*

Then, we ended our day drinking smoothies. ^___^

Very Berry Good (Nani's) and Super Charger (Maggie's)

Before I end this post let me just share with you what I saw at Landmark.

TADAH! New Packaging for Fanny Serrano's Two Way Cake Foundation! SA informed me that not all of the shades have updated their packaging. For now, only Organza has this new elegant, sturdy packaging. AND LOOK AT THE MIRROR! It was like Mommy Fanny heard our prayers! LOL. This is a lot better and more convenient than the old packaging. I did not buy it as I am still finishing my compact but I'll definitely get one in the near future. ^__^

Yey! Let me know your thoughts about it. :)

Anyway, have a great day! :)

Listerine's Natural Way to Fight Tooth Decay

Hello, everyone! Last Wednesday, I got a chance to participate in Listerine's press launch of their newest product: Listerine Natural Green Tea. The event was held at Umu Restaurant in Dusit Thani Manila and I was quite nervous because I went there alone, without my pangga. I didn't know how to get there as I wasn't familiar with the place. :( More so, I've never been to SM Makati or any other malls within the vicinity despite the fact that I worked in Ayala for a year. Work-bahay lang kasi ako parang noong College days ko na School-bahay lang rin. Actually... kahit nasa lawschool na ako school-bahay pa rin. wahahaha! :P Good thing, my brother advised me on how to get there via LRT-MRT. Anyway, I went there alone hoping to see some familiar faces (those I met in previous events) or to meet other fellow bloggers.

The place was really elegant and cozy. I knew I had to wear something nice and appropriate for a fine dining restaurant. At the same time, I wanted to wear something comfortable and simple because I had to commute. Kumusta naman ang init sa Manila, diba?

And so I wore the Jumper Shorts (Correct me if I'm wrong. :P) that Nani's parents gave me as a gift two Christmases ago. And yes, it was my first time to wear it. I was really waiting for the right occasion to wear something like it. And the event was perfect timing!

I wore a white cardigan too, because I knew the place
would be fully air conditioned.

Bought the Owl Necklace @ Divisoria

Here's my simple makeup that day.

I went to Umu Restaurant via riding the LRT to Cubao and the MRT to Ayala. I love the ambiance of the place and, through my own research, i learned that the place is known for their authentic Japanese dishes which made me more excited. The people there were very nice and accommodating. I was escorted to the room where the press launch was to be held. I got there early so I was able to chat with some bloggers and Nuffnang and Listerine officers.

Before the event started, I met some fellow bloggers and got to know them better.

The Fashionista Helen Blas of LUCKYCITRINE
I met Helen who looks so stunning with her skirt. Ako na ang fan ng skirt mo. Sayang wala akong picture non. haha. I saw her while I was browsing (window shopping dahil pulubi mode) at Forever 21, SM Makati before heading to Dusit. So the first thing I told her was, "Parang nakita kita sa Forever 21. Tandang-tanda kita kasi sobrang nagandahan ako sa skirt mo!" Tas ayon, keribels lang. We talked as if it wasn't our first time to meet each other.

The ever so famous Krissy of KRISSYFIED
Then I also met Krissy. When I saw her enter the room, I got a little nervous because I follow her blog and I know she's famous in the blogging community. However, she was very nice and approachable that we got along well. :) She was so kind she even invited me to ride the MRT with her on our way home. (In the end, she tagged me along with her friend Rovie who got a car. They're surprisingly super nice.)

The beautiful prego-mom Cai of APPLESANDDUMPLINGS
I also met Cai who is 7 months pregnant with her second child. She's blooming even when she's pregnant. Take note, she's not wearing any makeup when she attended the event. Who said pregnant women can't look great without makeup?
Krissy's Bling bling. :P

Now, I just want to share with you the new breakthrough product from Listerine: Natural Green Tea Mouthwash. No wonder they held it in a Japanese restaurant, which actually served us with green tea. This new product aims to fight tooth decay with their two main ingredients: Green tea and Fluoride. According to their research, 92.4% of Filipinos have tooth decay. This makes it the no. 1 oral problem in the country.

If you think brushing your teeth twice a day is enough, you're wrong. I was wrong. Brushing teeth alone cleans only 25% of the mouth which means it can still lead to tooth decay and other oral problems. I'm not a mouthwash user, to be honest. But the facts laid down to us during the press launch made me want to use a mouthwash.

So what makes Listerine Natural Green Tea a breakthrough? Well, first, it contains natural green tea that is proven effective in preventing cavity. Green tea has (1) catechins which inhibit cavity-causing bacteria; (2) polyphenol which has anti-cavity and anti-plaque effects; (3) tannins which prevent buildup of plaque; and (4) fluoride which strengthens teeth enamel.

Second, this new mouthwash contains twice more fluoride. It is intended to remineralize, resist and reverse tooth decay. Hence, not only does it kill 99.9% germs in your mouth, it also shields the teeth from cavity and helps strengthen teeth for a healthier smile.

We were given free bottles of this product to try out. I'm going to give one big bottle to Pangga lablab because I know he loves mouthwash products. :P I'm very grateful that Nuffnang invited me to attend this press launch. It's a great experience. :)

Listerine Natural Green Tea is already available in the market. I read in an article that it retails for Php 70.25 (80ml) and Php 166.50 (250ml). If you're not a mouthwash user, try it out. But if you are, you might want to try this new variant for extra teeth protection. More than we want to be bad-breath free, we also love to smile and show off our healthy teeth. :)

After the presentation, we had dinner and we were served sashimi and tempura. I don't know the names of other dishes but if you do, just let me know.

Tofu something... :P

My dad is going to be jealous... hehe He loves raw fish.

GREEN TEA ICE CREAM!!!!

I left the event with Krissy and Rovie of THEBARGAINDOLL. I want to thank these girls for giving me a ride to SM North. :P It was fun hanging out with them. Overall, it was a great event and a wonderful opportunity to meet fellow bloggers.

I can't wait to see Pangga so he can try the LisTEArine too.

Have a lovely day!
