Lovin' Pink Lips: Sophie Martin's Ice Pink

From left to right: Ice Pink, Russian Red, Summer Red
Three months ago, I posted a review about the Sophie Martin Lipsticks and I received a lot of positive remarks about them. And I concur with them because I love how creamy and non-drying they are on my lips. Aside from that, they're very affordable and accessible through the use of internet. However, I wasn't able to provide pictures on how wearable they are so I thought of making a Sophie Martin Lipstick Series to show you how they look like in person. This would, at least, help you decide if it would compliment your skin tone and if you really want to buy a specific shade. I haven't made a separate review about the Nudes and Peaches but don't worry, the post is "in the making". I actually decided to make separate reviews for each shade so that it will be easier of anyone to search it on my website by its name.

To start the series, I'll be starting with one of my favorite pink lipsticks: Ice Pink.

It's a really nice bright pink lipstick!

Oops.. excuse my pimples. Hehehe Breakouts on my forehead. ^__^

I hope this helps. I tried my best to have good lighting in my room so my camera could capture the shade accurately or, at least, close to it's real color. Cameras can be tricky sometimes. As they say, the eyes is a human camera and prolly the best one.

Have a great day, everyone!

How to Style Curly Hair and Hair Products Update

Hello from my Handy dandy Camera

As most of you know, my hair is naturally thick, curly, wavy and frizzy. I am constantly changing the products I use in pursuit of finding the best product for my hair. At the same time, I want something affordable so that I can maintain it.

Having a curly hair is not easy. I'd wake up in the morning hating the fact that I can't comb my hair and end up with it looking good. If you have a straight hair, it's probably easier to curl it than having a curly hair and try to straighten it. I've finish up the Professional Touch Styling Mousse and the Camellia Seed Oil. And now I bought new products and I hope they will work better for me.

Products I'm currently using:

From left to right: V05 Extra Body Styling Mousse,
Hair Treats Natural Fusion and
Hair Treats Color series with Vitamin E

Hair Treats Natural Fusion and Color Series with Vitamin E

I bought this product because my Tita (Aunt) recommended this to me. She told me it would make my hair soft and shiny. Luckily Watsons sells these for Buy 1 Take 1. Yey! I gave the other two to my mom so that she can also try both products. ^__^ True enough, it did make my hair shiny the whole day. The yellow one costs Php 139 and the other costs Php 79.

This is pricier than the Professional Touch Styling Mousse. But it is still affordable at a price of Php 219. I bought it since I've read good reviews about it. And it can make the curls last the whole day and give you that wet look without drying your hair. Another thing I like about this mousse is the 24 hour humidity protection. I definitely need that for a product since it's very humid here in the Philippines. At the same time, it can help prevent your hair from frizzing.

I style my hair by straightening my bangs. I just want the curls from the middle to the end of my hair. Some people actually thought I had my hair digitally permed.
But NO. No, I didn't. :P

To achieve this hair look, here are some simple and easy steps:

1. After taking a bath, apply hair shine/oil from the middle to the tips of the hair. Scrunch you hair and make sure the product is evenly applied.

2. Spray water to your hair and continue to scrunch it.

3. Make few sections of your hair and separately twirl them with your fingers.

4. Use a flat iron and straighten your bangs and some hairs on each side of your head. (Optional- you may do this if you have bangs or shorter hair on the front

5. Brush the top of your hair to make sure that the curls and the straightened hair blends well together.

6. Finally, use a mousse and gently scrunch your hair again. This will make a wet hair look and at the same time maintain the curls all through out the day.

BTW I'm wearing EB Matte in Mauvey. ^__^

Embrace your Curls! :)
That's all folks! ^__^

DIY Oatmeal Facial Mask

Oatmeal is a very good alternative for a facial cleanser or mask. It is natural and very affordable. I watched Bubzbeauty's video of Oatmeal Facial Scrub but since it was too messy I decided to do a facial mask instead. My DIY was quite similar to hers but I added some steps which I learned from other gurus. I discovered that to maximize the results of any facial mask, one needs to open up the pores first. I really want to buy Watsons' Facial Steamer but since I don't have it now, there is an alternative procedure for the same result. Other people put their face near a boiling/hot water which has a steamer effect. But I want an easier way to do that. I don't want my brothers to see me steaming my face in the kitchen anyway.

Well, Let's start.

First, you will need a small bowl where you can put the lukewarm water.

Second, damp the towel to the lukewarm water. Test it first using the back of your hand before putting the towel on you face. This will help open up the pores and make it easier to remove the dirt. Gently pat the towel on your face for about 5 minutes.

Tasted good when I accidentally put some oatmeal on my lips. haha

Third, get a handful of oatmeal. I suggest you get the original flavor. I was planning to eat this but decided to use this for the tutorial instead. Now, using the lukewarm water on the bowl, add a little water on the oatmeal and gently squeeze your hand. Just add enough water to make an oatmeal "paste".

Food for the Face
Fourth, apply the oatmeal "paste" generously on your face and leave it for 10-15 minutes.

Let it dry!
Finally, rinse you face and gently remove the mask. Follow it with your favorite moisturizer to lock in the moisture on your face.

breakouts on my forehead :( I really want to get rid of them.

Hello Eyebagssss! ^___^
Yey for clean face!

Have a great day!

Nail of the Day: Caronia On the Go

Last week, I was able to drop by SM Cubao and buy my first pair of Caronia nail polishes. The Watsons section has the complete Summer Bliss collection but I only bought two. I've never tried any yellow nail polish and, at the same time, I heard many good reviews about Caronia On the Go so I decided to buy the yellow and green shade.

Caronia Sweet Surprise and On the Go

To be honest, I was expecting more of this product because Caronia is one of the leading local brands for Nail Care and Polishes. The formula of the product is quite thick that I find it hard to apply them on my nails. The only advantage for a thick formula was that it gives a very rich color with one coat. However, it is difficult to apply evenly. Nevertheless, Caronia came up with interesting colors. I love Caronia On the Go and that is what I wore today.

Hope everyone is enjoying the long weekend!

Have a wonderful day!

Love for Photography

Hello, everyone. I want to show you the transformation of this picture. I'm not a professional photographer or editor but I learned a lot from different photographers/editors through Youtube and other tutorials. The best teacher will still be, of course, to practice. It is alright if you make mistakes; it is normal if you find yourself unhappy with the results. But the most important thing is that you face your weaknesses and try your best to improve on them.

 NEVER STOP LEARNING!

Looking back, I'm happy to see my work has changed in a lot of ways.

Wanna see my "ancient" photos? lol

This was taken FOUR years ago. HAHA! August 25, 2008

My First ever MAJOR MAJOR Photo Manipulation.

Meron pa akong ganitong nalalaman! Hahaha. I didn't really like how I edited this pic.
Not really what I wanted but I'm still happy with it.

Kumusta  naman ang pagkahorror???

After years of practice and learning, I was able to make my own style and love it.

BTW, I was using a digital camera back then.

This year my dad bought a DSLR for my brother. I am so happy I keep on borrowing it. It's MINE! LOL My brother is nice to give me the freedom of using his SLR. He's some kind of my teacher too. I'd tell him the result that I want for a photo then he'd tell what to do with the camera. HAHA!

So what's the point of all this? Well... I think if you really want to do something but you fear that you'll just suck at it, don't give up. Face your fears. Don't be scared to be looked down upon. The real goal is to improve yourself and there's no other formula but to work on your weaknesses. Nobody starts to be great at something. Even the greatest leader became a follower at one point. Whatever career path you want to take, don't give up when you are on your lowest point. Just keep on going and love what you do.

Have a great day!

Mom's Closet: Pamana #2 Flower Power Blouse!

It's Friday again! Time flies so fast. Anyway, it's raining again but the climate is humid. I don't want to wear long sleeve jacket because it's still warm outside so I decided to wear my short sleeve jacket. Yey! I like it when it is rainy and cold at the same time. Wearing  a jacket is legit!
Although the weather is gloomy, I wore a light pink lip color- Ever Bilena Matte Lipstick in Mauvey.   I also wore my mom's blouse. I'm not really into flower patterned blouses but I like how my mom's old blouse fits me. It's V-neck type too. I really feel like I'm wearing something vintage although it didn't look like it cause I wore jacket and jeans. If only I didn't have a class today, this blouse would look better with high waist denim shorts and a mustard colored slim belt. :P

Hehehe you can see my room on the left side! :P familiar with the
yellow and green background??? :P

I love Ever Bilena Matte Lipstick in Mauvey. This means a separate review for this product!!!!
Must have time!

Hello T-shirt/blouse and Jeans Girl! If you see me wearing skirt, there must have been a special reason.
HAHA

That's it for now! Weekend na ulit! And.... for Filipinos... LONG WEEKEND!

Food Trip: Dads in SM Megamall

Yesterday was Nani's birthday. ^__^ He and his family invited me to join them for dinner in SM Megamall so after class, Nani and I headed there.

We ate at Dads and I was very overwhelmed with the dishes they served. They have plate color coding so you may choose if you only want to eat in Kamayan (Pinoy dishes), Dads(Continental dishes) or Saisaki (Japanese dishes). It was buffet style so you can eat as many as like as long as you don't have leftovers. Never waste good food!!! :P Nani and I grabbed the white plate which indicates that we can "crossover" Kamayan, Dads and Saisaki.

I personally prefer Dads cause I wanted try their Lasagna. ^___^ I also love their Paella, Beef Tender Ups and Lengua! I wasn't able to take any pictures of Dad's dishes and only a few pictures in Kamayan. But the good thing was I took several pictures of Saisaki dishes before they wrapped up the place. The desserts were delectable.

Chicken BBQ

LECHON RAWR!

Colorful Cupcakes

Love Purple

Cream Puff? I am not sure but it looks like it

I LOVE MARSHMALLOWS. I also love their Chocolate dip.

Yum Yum! We'll definitely go back there for more! Haha! And next time, I'm gonna bring my family there. My dad loves Sushi and Sashimi so he'll love this place!

Have you tried eating here? What's your favorite dish of Dads? And
what's your favorite dessert?
